Seed-Ex Inc is positioning itself as an increasingly-diversified international grain trading company operation on both sides of the Canada-U.S. border. The company first made its mark by exporting malting barley produced by Canadian farmers to the United States. That is still the biggest line of business, but more recently Seed-Ex Inc has added soybeans and high protein wheat to its mix of product it buys from producers. Seed-Ex has become a significant importer of U.S. corn, DDG and soymeal which it sells to livestock end users. Seed-Ex has partnered with DTN Aghost System to offer all signed up producers and end users either daily text messaging or email of our spot pricing or end users pricing. The digital platform combined with the logistics, and 38,000 MT elevator capacity ensures that our staff are able to servive all producers and end users, big and small.

Seed-Ex has experienced rapid growth since it opened for business in September 1996 in Letellier, Manitoba, a small western Canadian farming community on busy HWY 75 just minutes from the U.S. border.

The swiftly-developing agricultural trading company was established by Roger Barnabe, a Letellier businessman with and accounting and farming background who saw an opportunity for Canadian producers to export significant quanitities of malting barley to the United States.

Our trading area encompasses all of Manitoba, and Southeastern and Northeastern Saskatchewan. Seed-Ex is a family corporation and beleives in establishing a longterm relationship with both producers and customers.
